Theory of superconductivity and superfluidity

About the lecture
In this lecture you will learn about the basics of superconductivity, starting from the BCS theory of s-wave superconductors to d- and p-wave superconductors while focusing in both, microscopic and phenomenological pictures.
The lecture will take place on Tuesdays from 12 to 14 in the HS I of the PI.

We will follow- P. G. de Gennes, Superconductivity of metals and alloys (1966).
- J. R. Schrieffer, Theory of superconductivity (1957).
- G. Rickayzen, Theory of superconductivity (1965).
- A. L. Fetter and J. D. Walecka, Quantum theory of many particle systems (1971).
Additionally, we encourage the student to read the chapter and preprints on "Broken symmetry" in
- P. W. Anderson. Basic notions of condensed matter (1984).
Exercises
Please hand in the homeworks during the tutorials.
Note that the students who plan to attend to the examination need to attain at least 50% of tutorial attendance and 50% of the homework points.
